Determination to dazzle

Eurest | Great food |  10 June 2014

“Ready, steady, bake!” had a large slice of the population on the edge of their seats each week, waiting to see what delights the Great British Bake-Off would serve up. But if you thought the cakes featured on the programme were amazing, trust us, you ’ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Move over Mary Berry: CakeBomb are the new kids in town, a newly formed and incredibly creative group of 17 cake artists from all over the UK. They’re a highly talented bunch who have collaborated to complete an exciting never-before-seen installation at Manchester’s Cake and Bake show. The astonishing result is on a par with Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

The group has created a life-size edible Indian jungle, made entirely out of, you guessed it… cake — as well as sugar craft, cookies and chocolate, taking over 6,000 hours to create. With a working sugar waterfall, monkeys, rabbits, birds and much more — all in spectacular detail and eye-catching colour — it’s definitely a show-stopper.

Show visitors had the chance to see CakeBomb in action and to ask them questions while the artists decorated the exquisite cake. The group is keen to spread their enthusiasm and knowledge of their craft; a mind-set that we at Eurest understand perfectly.

Another wonderful thing about CakeBomb is their undeniable determination to dazzle. It’s an ethos that we also share; at Eurest we aim to provide a fantastic foodservice that’s going to impress you and your people on a daily basis. We pay attention to every tiny detail and set ourselves very high standards, continually searching for new and better ways of serving you. Keeping our customers satisfied just isn’t enough — we want to surprise, inspire and delight.
