A huge thank you to all our customers who’ve bought Life Water. With your help, we’ve given thousands of people access to clean water. Here’s how.
A serious situation
While in the west we tend to take clean drinking water for granted, there are many places in the world where it’s a rarity. In fact, there are currently around 663 million people who lack access to safe drinking water.
But we’re kicking off 2017 with some good news. While the situation is dire, there are people and organisations working to make a difference — and we’re proud to be a part of that effort.
Making a splash
So far, sales of Life Water in our restaurants have helped drop4drop, a water charity, to install 17 drinking-water wells around the world. And these wells currently provide life-sustaining H2O to 23,625 people. Incredible.
But we can’t take all the credit, without Life Water, drop4drop and our customers who’ve bought the water, none of this would be possible.
So, to everyone involved, we’d like to say a huge thank you.
Just the start
This isn’t the end of our journey to helping the world get better access to clean drinking water. Working with Life Water and drop4drop, we hope to see the number of clean drinking-water wells increasing, year on year. The wells that we currently have in the pipeline, for example, will provide an additional 4,136 people with safe drinking water — bringing our total to a massive 27,761 people.
We’ll keep you updated on how that goes.
